From a very young age, many of us are unintentionally taught to be unhealthy and in doing so we create disease in our bodies and minds. We learn to treat ourselves with sugary, refined foods, we smear toxic lotions, potions and cosmetics onto our skin and hair, we breathe in toxins from our increasingly polluted cities, we learn to approach stress with comfort eating and other damaging and addictive behaviours.

If we want to get healthy, we need to understand how to create it. We need to develop healthy behaviours that drive us towards increased levels of energy and happiness.

 

I’ve always been interested in health and fitness.  I was an athlete as a teenager. I got my very first juicer in my mid 20’s and became so enthused with drinking apple, carrot and ginger juice that my skin turned slightly orange with all the carrots I consumed!  In my late 20s I took the plunge, jacked in a TV production career  and changed direction completely.

I love to study and learn and am always evolving my ideas. In 2002 I became a personal trainer and really enjoyed the long career this qualification gave me. I met hundreds of different people in that time and got the opportunity to change many lives.

I’m passionate about personal development and completed my NLP master practitioner certificate in 2006. A combination of NLP and personal training allowed me to help others make big changes in their lives and health.

Having now qualified as a nutritional therapist, these days my passion and beliefs around health lie very firmly in what we eat and how we think. Occasionally I may consult on which type of exercise may be appropriate for the level of health of a client, but I find that by focussing on the health of an individual I am more effective at creating successful and lasting change through nutrition and mind-set.

 

Health can often be about learning and having a few simple habits that are done daily or weekly to ensure we maintain optimal levels of health at all times.
